Nothing says money better than fast cars. And nothing says more money than sleek, high-end roadsters that will leave their opponents in the dust.
But what cars out there are worth the price tag? The website MyLove Technology came up with a handful of cars that are worth every expensive penny of it, ranging from the highly-favored Lamborghini Reventón to the legendary Pagani Zonda Cinque.
(And though we’ve already cited a recent list by Forbes on the world’s elite cars, their selections were limited to cars available in the US market. This time, this particular list doesn’t have that global limitation…)
At the top of the list is the Swedish company Koenigsegg and their CCXR Trevita with its complete carbon fiber bodywork and diamond finish that makes it sparkle in the sunshine. It also has 4.7-liter V8 engine, a double carbon fiber wing, Inconell exhaust system paddle-shift transmission, carbon ceramic brakes, and a hydraulic lift system.
This limited edition car—only three will be built—can be yours for only $2.21 million.
Next up is the Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster, ‘cinque’ because only five will be built. This roadster is a roofless version of the famous Italian coupe and has a specially redesigned carbon-titanium chassis with a 678hp Mercedes AMG V12 engine that can give you a top speed of 217mph from 0 to 62mph in 3.4 seconds.
Though the price tag is a cool $1.8 million, imagine breaking highway speed limits with this sleek speedster.
At third place is the breathtaking Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport, regarded as the fastest roadster in the world. How fast? Try to imagine going at 1,001hp thanks to this vehicle’s 8.0-liter 16-cylinder engine, where you can hit 0 to 60mph under 2.5 seconds.
The price tag: $2 million (or $1.67 million for the coupe version). You behind the wheel? Priceless.
But if we’re going to talk about really fast, really expensive cars, we can’t miss out on the Lamborghini Reventón Roadster. Based on the Murcielago LP640, this ‘aerodynamically optimized’ beast of a machine comes with a 650hp V12 engine that gets you a top speed of 340kph.
It’s reported that there will be only twenty of these beauties made—20 for public consumption and one for the Lamborghini Museum—and each unit will cost $1.56 million.
Lastly, the Maybach Landaulet may look out of place here given that this is a chauffeur-driven sedan. However, this exquisite vehicle can hold its own against race cars half its size thanks to its 604hp V12twin-turbo engine that can put out a top speed of 155mph.
With this particular beauty—with its white leather interiors and power sunroof—you can actually feel you’re luxuriating in a $1.4 million car. However, you’ve got to supply your own chauffeur. (Joseph N)
