A man of elevated taste knows that a convertible is the only option when it comes to cars. Nothing can be cooler than steering the wheel with the rush of air breezing past the cheeks, the warmth of sunlight touching the skin. This, and not mentioning that convertibles are magnets to pretty chicks, is why we must give credit to Bentley for releasing yet another road masterpiece that will fulfill our wildest driving fantasies.
The elite marque announced its new Continental Supersports Convertible, a pimped-up remake of 2009’s Continental Convertible, a few days before its official unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show. Marketed as the fastest four-seat convertible in the world, the car boasts of a twin-turbo W12 engine that delivers 621 horsepower, 591 lb-ft. torque and a top speed exceeding 202 mph.
If you’re a driver who gets kicks from sprinting, note that this beast can zoom from zero to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds, bringing you a James-Bond-chasing-the-goons kind of rush upon car start. Changing gears, too, is effortless with its ZF 6HP26 six-speed automatic transmission featuring a Quickshift technology that cuts the shift times in half, beating the performance of its predecessors.
Designed to be less heavy than previous Bentley convertibles, the Supersports is geared with lightweight materials inside, outside and under the case, totaling to only about 5,200 lbs. The wheels are made with light forged alloy measuring 20 inches, and the sports seats with carbon fiber. Inside the car is a luxurious ensemble of Alcantara leather, carpet, burr walnut, and chrome centered by a lovely dashboard with DVD, GPS, Bluetooth, AM/FM Radio, and music player with 6-Disc CD Changer.
