Many of us who tire of the rat race that is urban life often yearn to escape to a villa by the sea where we can surround ourselves with the tranquility of nature, enjoy the company of our family and entertain the many friends who come to visit. While some may prefer a rustic cottage on a rocky promontory overlooking the ocean, there are those who require a more sophisticated beachfront habitat.
Enter Istana Phuket, a stunning top shelf development on the island paradise of Phuket, off the southern coast of Thailand. Nineteen palatial villas are being built on a 24-acre site overlooking Naithon Beach and the Andaman Sea, each one individually designed to best blend seamlessly with its rainforest environment and natural topography. A “Feeling of Opulence” is Istana Phuket’s design imperative, appropriate, as the word istana is Sanskrit for “palace.” Superstar architect Gary Fells describes his vision. “With Istana I plan to create villas that are sensitive to their surrounding environment. While each will have wonderful sea views, there is abundant space to give a strong tropical jungle feeling to the interior of each property.”
Amenities abound both inside and out of each luxury villa, including Italian Varenna kitchens and wardrobes, hand-selected Italian Travertine flooring, Sonos Integrated Sound Systems and Lutron Home Automation Systems and Viabizzuno lighting. Only the finest furniture, refinements and finishing will be appointed. Each villa will also have a bespoke cocktail station and bar for entertaining up to 150 guests. Istana Phuket will be managed by Elite Havens, one of the world’s most renowned luxury villa management companies in the region.
Nine of the nineteen villas are already spoken for, leaving only ten up for grabs with prices starting at just over £2 million.
A house by the beach never looked so good.
